Re. Downloading Edits for my existing theme...

Hi!

Does anyone know how to download my whole existing site so I do not loose the edits that I made? (I mean a WPD theme already up on my domain.)

Then do I zip it and reload for another domain???

I want to try changing to a new theme but am afraid I will loose all my edits....

Back-up all your databases to your computer. You may have to go through the cPanel to do so or you may have to have your host do it depending on the size of your files.

If it is just files within your current theme, you can simply use an FTP to transfer the theme (or the entire themes folder if you wish) to you desktop. Try the new theme and if you don't like it just upload the files via FTP back into the appropriate location, go into your wp-admin, activate the theme back to the one you had.

Good luck. If you are really woried, create a test site, make some customizations and try it there, first. And remember, worst case scenario, you have to make the changes again and you will have learned one way not to do it.
