Are we able to add wordpress plugins and what effect will this have on the whole wordpressdirect effort.

Also, I was wondering what things wordpressdirect does for us? I know we are supposed to be getting ranked high in google, but for my membership in wordpressdirect, what am I getting specifically. I am a technogeek/nerd and am just wondering what kinds of magic wordpressdirect does behind the scenes.

To answer your first question yes you can install plugins. Your next question, what does wpd do for us? well I'm sure I will miss a few features but here's a honest crack at it. First off if your new to blogging the problem with wpd is that so much has happened to your blog behind the scenes that most people are oblivious to whats happed. Starting with category's very simple construction in wpd that ruffly translates into Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links thats referred to in Design and content guidelines by Google (http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35769). Staying on topic with the site and content guideline by Google, though this is only my opinion. I believe that every guideline has been addressed in some way. Offering a site map to users, the proper use of descriptive words and addressing titles and alt tags.
WPD is preset with update services as well when you publish a new post, it automatically notifies site update services.
So in short WPD address all the known SEO on page and off page factors that not only allow users to get noticed faster by search engines but allows them to rank better and in a shorter period of time. If you would like me to compare your options with WPD's competitors and why WPD although not perfect offers a better platform for blogs. I would gladly do so but I think the the WPD forums wouldn't be the best place to do so since I don't have any affiliation with them.
