View Full Version : Wash away Theme: Ridding Sidebar of Meta

In the wash-away theme, I'm trying to get rid the Meta links in the sidebar.

I removed Meta in the Widgets page to the "hold" area below, yet it still shows in the sidebar (site: http://www.capressokettle.com - ok, still needs work, but it's getting there).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

David Peterson

Hi Dave,
That widget is coded right into the theme.
The only way to remove it is to go into Appearances and then Editor. Find the sidebar file and look until you find the code that represents the meta-widget.
You would then have to delete that code save the file.
I tried to do this for you, but you must change the password to your WP admin.
If you file a ticket, we will gladly make that change for you.

Thanks admin.

Being the ever wanna-be tinkerer (although, I do know my limit, which is one reason I subscribe the WPD!), let me give it a spin first. If I get stuck, I'll definitely let you know.

BTW: I understand it's a prudent practice to make another name as administrator, then delete the admin username. That's why you did not find the admin account.
