View Full Version : Sites aren't generating sufficient profits

I am a Silver member with 15 blogs. Combined, they generate about what it costs me to maintain my membership.

That isn't the result I was hoping for :-)

I'd like to know where to turn for some expert advice on how to turn these blogs into cash machines. I'm clearly doing something wrong, and would love some help.

The sites generate a few hundred visits a month, and I'm seeing a few dozen CTs to Clickbank/et al, but few sales. I'd love to upgrade to Gold, but I'm not willing to until I learn how to do a better job with what I've already got.

http://actlightning.com/warhammer is a typical site, if anyone would like to comment.

All the best,
Ken

Ken,
Did you do the 30DC?

Ken,
Did you do the 30DC?

The only thing I haven't done is publish articles. The sites are getting 100-200+ visits a day, but they aren't selling product.

Did you complete the 30 Day Challenge?
Are you sites carrying Adsense?

A few of my sites carry adsense, but they were created for affiliate marketing, and the ads are ugly and distracting. Where I've kept adsense, I've moved it to the sidebar, where it doesn't intrude.

I do not think it wise to make extensive use of Adsense unless the site's been designed with nothing else in mind.

In cases where I am promoting Mike Dillard's programs, the last thing I want is competing adsense ads popping up and stealing my leads.

This is true.
Have you tried getting some more traffic based on other keywords?
I'm sure you have thought of everything.
Sometimes a market is just not lucrative at lower traffic levels.
What kind of traffic are you seeing on these sites?

You still didn't answer my question about 30 Day Challenge.

I thought I had, other than the articles I didn't write. One of my blogs is on Google's page one, so something's working :-)

I found a more elegant Adsense plugin, Ozh' Who Sees Ads, which allows me incredible control over who sees ads, I recommend it to anyone wanting more control than the generic Adsense Manager provides.

It lets me place ads anywhere in a post that I wish to, and define, with great precision, who will see them, and when.

I can turn them on or off for search engine visitors (that's most of my traffic), regular visitors, or based on the number of times a given code snippet has been served.

The beauty of this is that I can use Adsense or any other code, so that I can insert a Dillard banner in the middle of a post about Dillard, and use my referral link.

I highly recommend it.
