ping plugin ?

wordpress pings search engines even when you edit a post. there is a plugin that only pings the se when a post is made. is that included in wordpressdirect blogs?

if not can i ad it and will it show up in the manage plugin section under website settings?

I had no idea about this issue with editing posts - I'm editing mine all the time!

Unfortunately the Smart Update Pinger page says that it has a pretty serious issue: "Future posts will not get pinged at all. Not when you publish it, and not when it becomes visible. No solution available."

So the Smart Update Pinger hardly seems to be a solution. Any other suggestions anyone?

Doing a bit of searchin about the ole internet I came across this concerning the repeated pinging problem when editing a blog post:

"This problem has been fixed on Wordpress v2.0 and above".
