"Read more" button for home page - how to create?

Can someone please tell me how to configure a WPD blog so that I only have a little bit of each blog post on the blog's front page, with "Read more" type buttons that people can click on to read the rest of the post? My articles are kind of disappearing down to never-never-land at the bottom of my home page.

I'm sure that this is written about somewhere in the 30dc forum but I've tried all sorts of searches and come up with zilch.

A 30dc colleague has helped me out with it.

In the wp-admin area where you write a new post, if you're in visual mode there's a little tree for image and next to that there is an icon comprised of 2 white boxes (one above the other) and if you click on that you get the "more" tag. Put your cursor where you want the tag to go and then click on that icon.

In html mode, you click on the "more" button which is 3rd from the right just above the text area. That puts the following code into your post:
<!--more-->

Anyone know if there is an equivalent button or something in the WPD panel?

I haven't seen any stuff about using the wp-admin area in the WPD videos. If anyone knows where there's a good video or tutorial about this I'd be glad to know!

Thanks for the great post! This is what makes a great forum, the free exchange of ideas.
Although WordPressDirect does not currently have a one, it will be placed as a suggestion to the development team.

I think you might have put in the wrong link there, Roy! :D (Edit: link has now been corrected)

Anyway - I get the point - you can use the same code in WPD panel as in wp-admin (as long as you click on the little html tag in the top right hand corner first).
