Google analytics is reporting my website as not having the code installed. Are there certain themes that do not support google analytics?

Check that the UA number is in on the Website Settings page.
Check on the Manage Plug-ins page that the Plug-in is activated.
If you check the source code on your blog page, you'll see if it is installed.

I would test it in a new theme

I changed the theme and the analytics code is there at the bottom. Also fixed another problem with meta tags.

Hi Joe,
What was the name of the theme?
Have you tried any of the free themes from http://www.bestwpthemes.com/
I uploaded a couple to my server last night and they work great.

Suppose we download a free WP theme: if we want to make sure that it operates exactly the same way as WPD themes work - do we just download the plugins that WPD uses?

If that is the case, then which plug-ins do we have to use? Is there a list of them somewhere and the urls for them?

Is there more that we'd have to do to tweak them?

Hi Isha,
Very good question. You never have to download the plug-ins for your imported widget ready Wordpress theme. WordPressDirect takes care of all that.
You may want to ad plug-ins from time to time. That is as simple as downloading the file to your computer, FTP with FileZilla(Or ant FTP Client) to the Content/Plug-in file on your server.
Then you go to wp-admin and click Plug-ins.
There you find the new one from the list and activate it.

I just added a free WP theme and put a Live Wire plug in in.

The theme that I had problems with was Visit Singapore City 1.0

Perhaps a sticky thread of themes that work well and themes that have wee problems, and what those problems are?

The first post in the thread could be a continually updated one with the themes listed that people are reporting have no problems, and another list of themes that are "broken".

There are threads like that in the 30dc forum (and maybe elsewhere too) and it would be great to bring those lists over here and update them.

Whatcha think?

:p

I just added a free WP theme and put a Live Wire plug in in.

So if you added a free WP theme, didn't you have to bring in all the WPD plugins to make it work optimally?

Oh, no. The theme only needs to be widget ready. The plugins install automatically.

Themes get installed on top of all the background files, they're like a filter you use to display everything.
Plugins are installed separately behind the scenes, part of the functional backend of your site.

I also had a problem with the Nano theme. GA did not get installed.
