I want to add another page "about me" page for my main website. How do I get about doing this.

You go into wp-admin for your site.
Click on the Writ tab and the Page Tab.
The UserName and Password, as well as a link to the wp-admin are on your Website Settings page.

I am sorry I have to ask how to go to wp-admin for my site.
Once I do that I should be able to follow from there.

I shall be following your questions on this forum because we seem to have the same problem. I did complain to WPD quite a bit in the beginning because they have few tutorials for totally newbies but I have learned a lot from the other forum members' questions and answers and IMStrong has been very supportive.
Good luck!
I also don't have the contact us thingy (www.myinstantresearchtool.org) and a lot of other things for my site so I was happy to have that answered.
This forum is really great though I wish more would join in and just put in some of the problems they had and the solutions they had found either by themselves or with WPD's help.

Look at these screen shots.
http://screencast.com/t/tMRij06xvE (click Website Settings)
http://screencast.com/t/W89ycaIa3 (clickthe url link here)(your Wordpress User Name and password are right below it.)
Clicking that link takes you here: http://screencast.com/t/HIihIPYJyPG
Log in with the Wordpress info.
That will take you to your wp-admin page for that blog. Click this: http://screencast.com/t/9xxNBzNE

There's a very quick way to go to wp-admin:
Type your sites url into your browser address bar, then type
/wp-admin
on the end of it.

yeah, that's a good shortcut.
but you probably still have to go to "website settings" just to get the password

Very sorry for not reading it properly. You have mentioned "The UserName and Password, as well as a link to the wp-admin are on your Website Settings page."
Thanks a load for being so helpful

Yes,
I have my passwords memorized, so I assume everyone does.
That is the quick way if you need the password. You just copy it, click the hyperlink, enter admin for a user name and paste in the password.

Another way is to click Log in on the Meta widget in the side bar.

Ok I overcame the hurdle of finding how to do a new page. Is it possible for that page - about me - page to have only my picture and a few other pictures without putting all the ads and my sales page etc. If so how do I do it?

I think you can shut off the Adsense to the page. In wp-admin click the Manage tab.
Then click Ad Units: http://screencast.com/t/63bc4GpBbF
Then click Edit Network: http://screencast.com/t/OdIR6gcmBc
Then, under Display Options, set On Pages to "No". http://screencast.com/t/eORqjGuNOpB
Save Changes.
As for the side bar showing up, that would take some more advanced skills of theme editing that I possess.

Actually I am more interested in removing the sidebar of this about me page as I want only the page to have about me with no ads, categories etc (the normal things that are there on the main page). I want to remove the header as well.

You have to edit the single page php file.
In this file, you have to disable the sidebar by using php comments.
This will change the format for all of the "pages", not just about me.

I want to have only one page different from the others that is without the header and sidebar etc etc

Me too - I'd like to be able to create one-off pages or posts without my affiliate ad in the sidebar.
Looks like perhaps it can't be done on a WordPress blog...

Oh Isha, ye of little faith. You know just how to push my buttons. Suggest it can not be done.
This is really an issue of editing the theme.
If it is not hosted on WPD, you can do that in wp-admin. I am not yet sure how, but that is here.
Ebeneezer is on the right track though.
We will find a way to do this, if it can be done.

It's not hosted on WPD. I don't see how editing the theme can edit just one page or just one post.
My immediate need for it has gone, but I'd be real curious to see how this pans out.

Hi,
The fact you are hosted on WPD does not mean you can not edit your theme. It means you can not edit in wp-admin. You can FTP the appropriate files and edit them that way.
I just started a training program on creating Wordpress themes from scratch. It is something that would be done in the index.php file.
When I find out, it will be shared here.

Thanks, IMStrong. Curious to know which training prog you're following?
In my previous post I wasn't actually thinking properly about what I was writing (one of my many stupid days): I'm not hosted on WPD.
One of those (very exceptional) occasions in which when a lady says no she means yes... or do I mean says yes and means no... oh, I dunno - one of those occasions when she completely dithers...
Except that I dunno that aim a laidy.
:p
(I've now corrected the error in that post and the result is that I've unintentionally made your first comment a bit weird - sorry IM!)

Hi Isha,
I am following the lessons here: http://www.wpdesigner.com/2007/02/19/so-you-want-to-create-wordpress-themes-huh/
But, I must warn you. It meant I had to set up a local database on my computer. A first for me.
http://geeksaresexy.blogspot.com/2006/06/installing-wordpress-locally-under.html
It was a lot of work, but I am building a theme from scratch, and have an off-line blog to see it as it grows.

I trust it's going well.
Good job it's not me doing the lessons. I can't read webpages that have light-coloured writing on dark backgrounds. I hope your theme isn't going to be like that.
