How long before I expect to rank?

Hi, Would like to know how long before I can expect to rank with my WPD blogs - I have done the keyword research written sticky articles, submitted them to onlwire and now have auto content posted on the site for a few days now - but have absolutely minimal organic traffic - I'd expect that ther woukd be a considerable amount of traffic for the keywords I've chosen. Typically how long does it take for google to index the site? Is there anyway of determining whether I have been penalised for over optimsing the site by google?

It does vary. I put up one site and was indexed within hours.
It worries me a little when you say, "have auto content posted on the site for a few days now."
I never even auto-posted anything until after I was indexed.
How many keywords, and how often are you posting?
Are you bookmarking any of the autoposted content?
